Important Information: Policies

Domestic Shipping

UPS ground service is our primary means of shipping. However, for an added shipping charge we will send UPS Next Day, 2nd Day, 3 Day Select, etc. We insure all packages for full value. Alaska and Hawaii residents are charged the exact dollar amount for the freight service they request. We will use other carriers upon customers request but there may be added fees. Please note there may be maximum insurance values allowed depending on the service requested. There is a $3.00 handling fee for all shipments. All shipping charges are determined by the weight and size of the package and the insurance value of the contents. Shipping rates are steadily increasing by all carriers. We are doing our best to find the most reliable and economical services. All Policies are subject to change without notice.

Foreign Shipping

Although UPS is our primary carrier, we often use the United States Postal Service (USPS) for Foreign shipments. We insure all packages for full value. Please note that there are insurance limits when using the USPS. Shipping charges are determined by both the weight and the size of the package and the value of the contents. There is an additional $3.00 handling fee for all shipments. Customs and Duty charges are the customers responsibility. If a customer chooses to devalue a shipment, payment must be made by bank check or money order. The Caboose will not accept credit cards when requested to devalue a shipment. We hope that you understand our situation. All Policies are subject to change without notice.

Layaway Policy

The Caboose Layaway Policy requires a 25% deposit within 7 days of order and equal payments of 25% every 30 days. If the minimum deposit is not received within 7 days, the model will be returned to inventory. If the model is not paid for within the 90 day period, the model will be returned to inventory with a 20% restocking fee. Most models owned by The Caboose may be put on Layaway. Consignment models may NOT be placed on Layaway unless specifically allowed by Consigner. Models under $100 also may NOT be put on Layaway. Layaway Policy updated September 2015. Return Policy

Of course, if you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return it to The Caboose. We feel that 14 days is a reasonable time in which to return a model. Please note that some models may have a 10% restocking fee. Consignment models may not be returned if the Consignee has already been paid. All Policies are subject to change without notice.

Hold Policy

A customer may put a model on a 24 hour hold if the customer needs time to research the item. Only serious inquiries will be held. All Policies are subject to change without notice.
